turn everything to its lowest possible usable setting and remember to constantly shut everything off that is not being used
change the light ba=ulbs to the low watts possible
Get or check your appliances. and hot water heater. when water heaters get scum in them . bad. The government will even give you a rebate. The new one can be allot more energy efficient. usually worth a new one. Also have your furnace serviced and ask him.
