Would solar panels on the roofs of all homes and buildings would cool the planet and counter global warming by reflecting the Sun’s energy into space?

That is a nice thought but would not work. What keeps the Earth warm are (greenhouse) gasses CO2, NOx, SO2 etc absorb and hold on to heat. Solar panels don’t really deflect the sun, it wouldn’t really collect energy if it did that. Aluminum may deflect the radiation but like I said, there are a lot of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. To at least slow down the rate of global warming we need to drop our humanly habits such as fuel burning of natural gasses cold turkey it may or may not halt it. It is definitely worth the try though.
