Did you know that Mr. and Mrs. Gore’s home is operated almost entirely on alternative fuel?

by admin on July 5, 2009

that is, solar, wind, thermal. Most people don’t know this because the Gore’s are extremely private people at home. However, there is very little, if any, fossil fuel used to power the Gore’s home in Tennessee.

That’s completely false.

Out-and-out lie. The Gores consume almost 20 times more electricity per year than the average household. By contrast, the Bush ranch in Texas is almost entirely green. Do your homework before you spew liberal propaganda.

Uhhh that snopes article points out that Gore pays a lot more to specify that his power is supplied by renewable sources. You and I can buy renewable energy too, it just costs a lot more to check that off on your energy bill.

You are a nut, the house recieves its fuel from TVA and they aquire energy from a list of sources including coal and hydorelectric.

Quite trying to defend the hypocrite.

The snopes article does not contradict the question, but rather supports it.

The question didn’t say that Gore’s home (and office) don’t use any energy, it says that it uses mostly alternative sources, just as the snopes article confirms.

since 2006 the Gore’s have been converting as they can; and also what they do use fossil fuel for they trade off; so that their carbon footprint is next to zero.

The Gore family tries to offset their carbon footprint by purchasing their power through the local Green Power Switch program — electricity generated through renewable resources such as solar, wind, and methane gas, which create less waste and pollution.

The Gore’s areinstalling solar panels on their home, which will enable them to use less power,
They also use compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy efficiency measures and
The Gore’s purchase offsets for their carbon emissions to bring their carbon footprint down to zero.

I am curious how many other high profile American’s in huge homes are doing even half as much; or even care about their carbon footprint on this earth?

Yes, you are correct. The people who claim this is false are not even providing evidence that it’s false. They’re providing evidence that the Gore home consumes a great deal of energy, but no evidence regarding the source of that energy.

However, while it’s commendable that the Gores make extra efforts to power their home with renewable energy, it would also be nice if their home were more energy efficient as well.

Algore is on the grid they don’t run separate lines to his house.
It would be impossible to get all his power from those sources alone, if you throw in hydroelectric you may be right but everybody in the region would have that wouldn’t make him special except for his politico speak.

None of that covers his humongous natural gas bill though.

He started installing a geothermal system when he got called on his hypocrisy.

When it’s all said and done his consumption for two people is still conspicuous in light of what he asks of others

Why bash the man? At least he pays his bills, however high or low, which can’t be said for all Americans….
